By Scott Cohen & Celeste Tabares

At the end of 2023, Engelman Berger, P.C. was honored to host the Fall meetings of Legus International https://leguslaw.com/.

LEGUS is a global network of diverse independent law firms in over 60 jurisdictions and with over 1500 lawyers that has been serving its members and their clients for over 25 years. We at Engelman Berger are proud to have been Legus members for over a decade now.

In addition to hosting, we had several of our brilliant legal minds leading discussions and panels related to the types of legal challenges we help clients with every day. Damien Meyer, a litigation partner at EB, was on a panel on the use of expert witnesses. Scott Cohen and Michael Rolland of EB presented on What non-lawyers can teach lawyers about the practice of law.

Scott Cohen will be joining the Advisory Board of LEGUS from 2024-2027, with the first meeting at a sister firm in Aachen, Germany.

But not all of the Legus activities were strictly work related. We had the pleasure of hosting a reception at our central Phoenix offices.

Mixing & Mingling in the EB Cafe. Dos Chris supplied the incredible snacking spread!

The view from the 11th floor is always a show stopper, but just a lovely was the dinner was held at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn. Desert dining at its finest was a great way to share some of the beauty of central Arizona with our colleagues.

The events closed with about 25 Legus attendees stepping into a more rugged view of Arizona and taking a Pink Jeep tour of Sedona. Our very own Arizona natives, Celeste Tabares and Amanda Carrizales, joined the fun and played host to our Legus visitors.

EB is grateful for the leadership of Sandra Boyer and Breana Jackson of Legus International. We’re thrilled to have hosted such an inspiring and educational event with our Legus partners and look forward to a successful 2024!
