Partner Shelley Detwiller DiGiacomo of Engelman Berger, PC was a guest lecturer in September at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, addressing students in the Corporate Sustainability program on the complex and evolving intersection of law, business, and climate policy.
The course, led by attorney Trevor Burggraff, invites industry leaders to share real-world insights on sustainability in corporate practice. Detwiller DiGiacomo’s lecture focused on the role of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in corporate transactions, the growing importance of Corporate Responsibility Policies (CRPs), and the increasing demands of investor-driven and regulatory disclosures.
“We were honored to welcome Shelley Detwiller DiGiacomo as a guest lecturer,” said Burggraff. “She unpacked how ESG topics surface in M&A negotiations, how CRPs guide day-to-day management, and how SEC disclosure requirements intersect with rising investor expectations.”
“I had an incredible morning with these bright and engaging students,” said Detwiller DiGiacomo. “Their thoughtful questions and curiosity were energizing and it was inspiring to see the next generation of lawyers diving into such important work. The future of the profession is bright.”
