Engelman Berger, PC continues to be recognized as a thought leader in the legal profession, with partner Damien R. Meyer set to present at the Legus International Fall Meeting on October 24, 2025 at the historic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City, Canada.

Meyer, an experienced commercial litigator, will join fellow attorney Randall Sutton in leading a session entitled “Senior Lawyers: How Do They Transition Out Effectively?” The presentation will explore practical strategies for law firms navigating one of the profession’s most pressing challenges: ensuring smooth and respectful transitions for senior attorneys while safeguarding clients, protecting the firm, and honoring the contributions of retiring lawyers.

“Succession planning isn’t just about what happens at the end of a lawyer’s career—it’s about creating a win-win for everyone involved,” said Meyer. “Our goal is to share proven approaches that allow firms to handle transitions with fairness, foresight, and respect.”

The session reflects Engelman Berger’s commitment to tackling complex issues that shape the business of law. With Legus International’s membership spanning 70+ independent law firms across 35 countries and 35 U.S. states, the conference provides a global platform for collaboration and innovation in legal practice.

Meyer is well versed in succession planning and helping businesses protect their objectives and interests and proactively resolve disputes.
