Engelman Berger continues to distinguish itself among Arizona’s legal talent, earning multiple placements in Az Business magazine’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers list. Two firm partners were recognized among the state’s leading attorneys and another contributed expert insight for a special editorial feature in the issue.
Founding Partner Steven N. Berger was again named to the annual directory, marking his 11th consecutive year earning the distinction. Berger is recognized for his longstanding leadership in bankruptcy and reorganization law, an area in which he has built a well-respected practice over nearly four decades. His work representing lenders, creditors, investors, and business owners in complex commercial matters has made him a trusted authority and strategic problem-solver within Arizona’s legal community.
Joining Berger on this year’s list is partner and repeat Top 100 honoree Tamalyn E. Lewis, whose career also spans some 40 years. Lewis is widely regarded for her deep understanding of Arizona’s business landscape and her approach to creditor representation. Her practice encompasses commercial bankruptcies, foreclosures, loan workouts, real estate and agricultural matters, and high-stakes negotiations across Arizona, Texas, and New York. Lewis is recognized throughout the state for her leadership and mentorship within the legal profession and has been called a “trailblazer” for women lawyers in Arizona.
In addition to the firm’s Top 100 honorees, partner Shelley Detwiller DiGiacomo was quoted in a special AZ Business feature exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping the practice of law. In the article, “Law Meets Machine: How Artificial Intelligence Is Transforming the Practice of Law,” DiGiacomo shares insight into how firms are rethinking attorney development in the age of AI.
The Az Business Top 100 Lawyers list is curated annually by the magazine’s editorial board using an algorithm that evaluates professional ratings, peer recognition, client reviews, and demonstrated impact on the legal profession and the broader community.
